General information about the digital divide

Quotes:

"the digital divide was really, I think, more about a moment in time where there was a lag between early adopters and mass America. It’s become something that’s much more part of the fabric of everyday America, including black America.   Where we do see a divide on the Internet continues to be around sort of class and education, less so about race." - Omar Wasow http://www.onthemedia.org/transcripts/2008/05/02/03

Thoughts on organization or final presentation

-I'd like to use a website like wordpress or even tumblr. I second the Diigo suggestion for the next few weeks to help us sort through our links.

I think we should do a class activity where people go without internet access for a day (if life/jobs/etc. allow it) and see how their world is different. It might be kind of hard, because we're all in this online class, but it could be worth suggesting.  Alternatively, instead of no internet, how about mobile internet only? Just thoughts, I don;t know if either is possible
